Pastoral Care Services

Holy Name Medical Center's pastoral care services tend to patients' spiritual needs as part of the healing process. Pastoral care chaplains can be called upon at any time of the day or night. Volunteer pastoral visitors round out the pastoral care team.

Holy Name's pastoral care ministry brings comfort and offers a listening ear and heart as members of the team help keep patients and their families in touch with their faith.

Our services include:
  • religious services, including daily and weekend Catholic liturgy held in the Medical Center chapel and televised at the bedside on patient stations.
  • visits from chaplains; from the patient's own minister, rabbi, or other clergy member; and from volunteer pastoral visitors, who support patients, families, and Holy Name staff members.
  • commemoration of major Christian and Jewish Holy Days.
  • daily distribution of Holy Communion.
  • sacraments of Reconciliation and Anointing of the Sick celebrated upon request.
Holy Name's chapel is located off the lobby and provides a peaceful atmosphere for all faith denominations. For more information about the Pastoral Care Department, call 201-833-3243.
