The Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine is a full service clinical and anatomic pathology laboratory, with accreditation from the College of American Pathologists. It is licensed by the New Jersey State Department of Health and certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services under CLIA. It is operational on-site at Holy Name Medical Center at all times.

The department consists of: Anatomic Pathology (includes Histology and Cytopathology), Chemistry, Hematology, Immunochemistry, Immunohematology (Blood Bank), Microbiology, Serology, Phlebotomy and Laboratory Information Systems. These sections provide accurate, reliable, efficient, and effective medical laboratory information. Adherence to our strict quality control monitors and standards assure diagnostic excellence for each of the over 1.5 million tests we perform yearly.
